Migrating From Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express
Part 1: Getting your account settings:
If you are not familiar with your email account settings, you can contact your provider and try to get the information from them. However, you can get this information from Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express.
In Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express:
- Outlook Express: Go To Tools >> Accounts
Outlook: Go to Tools >> Email Accounts - Select your email account from the list and click Properties
- Click over to the Servers tab, most everything you need will be on that window
- Make note of:
- My incoming mail server is:
- Incoming mail
- Outgoing mail
- Account Name
- Also note if
- Log on Using Secure Password Authentication is checked
- My mail server requires authentication
- Click over to the Advanced Tab and make note of:
- Outgoing and Incoming Mail ports
- If use SSL boxes are checked for either one
