Setting Up An Email Account In Thunderbird
Your screens may vary depending on which version of Thunderbird (2 or 3) you are using and your Operating System (Windows, Mac, Linux).
If you have not already, download & install Mozilla Thunderbird. The first time you launch Thunderbird you should be presented with the Account Wizard, New Account Setup Screen. If you have canceled out of the Wizard or it does not appear, then goto Tools >> Account Settings:

- Click Add Account...

- In the next window, select Email Account

- The next window is Identity
- In the Your Name field, enter the name you want displayed as 'from' on your emails
- In the Email Address field, enter your email address
- Click Next

- Now on to Server Info:
- Select either POP or IMAP as your mail server type
- Enter the name of your incoming mail server
- Enter the name of your outgoing mail server
- Click Next
- Next is User Names
- Enter the user name for your incoming mail server
- Enter the user name for your outgoing mail server (note: this is usually the same as the incoming)
- Click Next

- Next is Account Name. Enter what you want to call this email account then click Next

- The final screen is a confirmation screen click Finish
- If your mail provider uses incoming mail server port of 110 (POP) or 993 (IMAP) skip to Step 9 otherwise:
- In the Account Settings window, find the new account you created and click on Server Settings
- Update your Port setting

- If your mail provider uses outgoing mail server port of 25 (POP) or 465 (IMAP) click OK otherwise:
- In the Account Settings window in the left column click on Outing Server (SMTP)
- On the right, select your outgoing server and click Edit

- Update your Port setting & click OK

- You are now done, click OK
